Some good questions were raised about the recent changes in callings. To make it easier for FS to get specific messages out to the Consultants, they took off the --Lead and --Indexing off the existing titles making everyone an easy Temple and Family History Consultant
FROM FAMILY SEARCH:
A good question was asked about how existing callings were handled when the change was made to remove the assignment designators. Any consultant who was already in a standard calling with the hyphenated assignment designator was automatically moved to the new standard calling of either Ward Temple and Family History Consultant (if they were serving at the ward level) or Stake Temple and Family History Consultant (if they were serving at the stake level).
Clerks would only need to put consultants into the new standard calling if they were previously in a custom created calling.
------------------------------ ------
If you do hear of any stake temple and family history consultants who can no longer access the Indexing reports make sure they are in MLS/LCR as a “Stake Temple and Family History Consultant”. If they are listed with any hyphenated assignment it means the stake has created a custom calling. Only standard callings selected from the dropdown will have access.
If there are any questions about this have the consultant call FamilySearch Support at 866-406-1830.
REGARDING THE SCREENING OF THE LIVE FEED FOR ROOTS TECH LEADERSHIP MEETING ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2019
There are been two links going around for Thursday’s Leadership Instruction, one containing a dash between “family” and “history”. Both links should work but we’ve been asked to use “familyhistory” without the dash, as shown below.
Here is some clarification regarding the meeting on February 28th. In years past, this meeting was referred to as the Family History Leadership Session at RootsTech. Last year temple and family history consultants were invited to attend along with stake presidents and Area Seventies. This year bishops, elders quorum presidencies, relief society presidencies, temple & family history leaders, and temple & family history consultants have been invited. The meeting is now called Temple and Family History Leadership Instruction.
Selected leaders and consultants have been invited to attend the live meeting in the Little Theater of the conference center on Thursday, February 28 at 7:00 pm. Seating is limited to those with invitations. The meeting will be streamed live at www.lds.org/familyhistory. The stream will be available in English, Spanish, and French. Those attending RootsTech who would like to participate but were not invited may view a live stream of the instruction in Ballroom A of the Salt Palace Convention Center.
