1. THE 1-2 COUNSELOR (THE ONE THE PRESIDENT WANTS TO HELP WITH FAMILY HISTORY), IS NOT TO TEACH THE CHILDREN FAMILY HISTORY BUT WILL BE A VALUABLE HELPER TO PARENTS AS THEY PICK UP THE RESPONSIBILITY TO TRAIN THE KIDS.
IF THEY NEED HELP, THEY CAN LOOK HERE FOR HANDOUTS, OR YOU CAN PRINT THEM DOWN AND SEND THEM HOME WITH THE CHILDREN.

Why is a sheet that says when the states were admitted to the Union important? Let's say you were
looking for a marriage license for someone in Massachusetts 1798
Well, you can't find the records in that file...then you notice that Connecticutt was admitted just a few days before. With boundary changes, go the records to the State capitol, so this is very helpful.
Also parents will tell their kids that they were born, say, in Tennesee in 1794....only in 1794 parts of Tennesee were Kentucky. Tennesee was admitted to the union in 1796. so keep this handout "handy".

This little 5-step plan is for those who have no idea where to start - this will just give you a beginning, a fresh place to start. I have attached the SAMPLE Ward Family HIstory Plan and SAMPLE Stake Family History Plan which will be helpful to Bishops, Counselors over Temple and Family History, Elders Quorum Presidents, Temple, and Family History Leaders, as well as Stake Presidencies, the Counselor over Temple and Family History for the Stake, the High Councilor over Temple and Family History

This is how we had 18 baptisms in 22 months when Ted was the WMldr. We worked with the Mission Presidents and consultants would go with the missionaries on appts. Consultants would help them create a tree (new or less active works too), then by the time they were baptized, (or reactivated), they had a friend to go to the temple with them and about 200 names to last them a whole year of activity until they could receive the next step.
