Family History Centers - are you up to date?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS NEEDED TO RUN A FHC SUCCESSFULLY?

Recently, in preparation for opening up our Family History Center after the long COVID break, we were made aware of a great many shortcomings which needed to be fixed.

Did you know or were you previously aware that:

1.  The computers in your Family History Center do not belong to your Stake?

2.  They are maintained by your Stake Staff, yet must comply with specific technicalities, from permissions to admin logins and passwords.

3.  You are not supposed to change any of the settings to make it more comfortable for you to come to the center.  All the settings are mandated by the Director's directions from SLC.

4.  Why can't you store your pictures and family history files on the Library computer.  That is why God made USB files or thumb drives.  You can take your files anywhere you want to go!  But please do not save them on the desktops at the center.

5.  We know that sometimes you forget your login and password and need to use your email on the desktop - that is fine - please do not store your password there for the next time you forget.  It is helpful to carry a notebook with you when you come.  So many times, hours are lost of precious time between the Stake Consultant and the visitor because they don't have logins and passwords they need.

6.  What logins and passwords do you need?

    1.  Family Search

I am not including the links to these (2-7) because if you saw our presentation on Partner Access, you know that you should sign up from these from the member access page.  To learn more about Partner Access and how you can shorten your research time and increase your success go here:  https://naswfamilyhistory.blogspot.com/2021/08/what-delightful-and-informative-zoom-we.html

    2.  Ancestry

    3.  My Heritage

    4.  Geneanet

    5.  American Ancestor

    6.  Find my Past

    7.  Filea

    8.  Thefhguide.com

ZOOM FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 - REDUCING YOUR RESEARCH TIME AND INCREASING YOUR SUCCESS RATE AS A CONSULTANT

 The Gift!

Consultants have been given a precious gift of discernment and when used with the Spirit, prayerfully working with someone on their family tree, they are given many blessings.

Our zoom today will help your consultants so much because it will give them the knowledge to successfully navigate through a one on one with a patron and increase their self-esteem.  It will give them several quick key tips to help a patron get more opportunities for Ordinances.  There is great value in convincing them that they do not have to be an expert on the first day they are called as a consultant.

Hope you enjoy it.  We sure enjoy all of you who come to our Zoom meetings.   It is very rewarding to help you and we enjoy learning from your expertise as well.  This past zoom we welcomed people from Australia, UK, New Zealand, Haiti, Canada, many USA states, and of course, Arizona!

See you next month - the subject has been finalized and we will be showing a Stake Handbook on Policies and Procedures as well as ideas for Stakes to pull the wards together.  October 16, 2021 at 5 pm AZ time.  Mark your calendar !
