WHEN DID A STATE BECOME A STATE????

You need this pdf handy in case someone says they were born in a year before the state was even a state. What state was before it? That is where the records just might have been - in the state at the closest boundary.
You can't say I was born in California in 1843 if it didn't become California until 1850...Our last zoom goes over this in detail. Just scroll back and watch the examples.

FAMILY HISTORY GAME - Sample page with dummy information (not real) gives ideas where to search if a teacher were to try to find information.
Then you give the information of a real person and family and let them look at the sample info and place the markers in the right order. * markers are at the bottom - cut apart and put each set into a different envelope... they will need glue or tape.
