We will show you what life was like, and how you can get closer to those relatives by studying what they did as well as get clues to their existence off the 1950 census. This is the first census that has used handwriting Artificial Intelligence to decipher the census data and record it in typewritten form for us to review.
That is all you are doing - just reviewing how the AI did it and if you agree you simply give them your affirmation then move on to the next one.
Now that the 1950 Census is out, the church has been asked by Family Search to motivate your whole ward to help finish the indexing so that it can be released to the public. The fun part is, that you can select any portion you wish. You can select your old neighborhood when you were growing up, or your parents as well. That would be an interesting family dinner conversation if your son or daughter said,
..."Dad, I was wondering if you remember the Smead or Goldberg family who lived on your street, you know, Crosswood Road when you were about 10 years old?"
After you pick Dad up off the floor, you'll be able to tell him how you learned about them - then show him how to do the new indexing "FROM HOME" which has never been easier.
