FAMILY HISTORY FAIR - Want to take a trip with your Ancestors?

 TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE...

This past May, we had our stake Family History Fair.  It was so much fun, and I documented everything that made it a success.  It's a small pamphlet, but never the less, it's FREE if you use Kindle.  For the paperback version, I believe it is under 3.00.  That being said, I told Amazon it was my church calling and I wanted to choose the cost of 00.  They said, Well, we have to cover paper, ink, etc.,"  Truly that makes sense to me.   It is quite a compliment for others to come from other Stakes, and even States to see how to put one of these together.  What could be called amazingly satisfying is to see them succeed using perhaps some of our ideas, but more so, being inspired and coming up with cool innovations that will attract masses to learn how to find their ancestors!

How to create a successful Family History Fair! 

Family History is the 3rd most popular hobby in the world! During the pandemic, two things SOARED 

through the roof.  One was, that young women worldwide, without the ability to go to malls, stayed home and learned to sew.  There was a shortage of sewing machines, increasing the cost and value of existing machines driving the price of sewing and machines like embroidery machines up 150%  Other Families, who had worked hard on their family history by staying at home and working at it daily,  even submitted DNA testing so that they could  identify family members by the shared Centimorgans  (short strands depicting the same gene arrays for the same families). Parents were reunited with adopted adults, Young people who wanted to know who their missing parent was and to whom they were related, now  could zero in on that information. This seemed like a wonderful time to really share with our neighborhoods  and communities and reach out and connect with them. We wanted to have the perfect Famliy History Fair - and it was!
