Your chance to Inspire others.....
Great activities can be planned across all auxilliaries with family History.    Family Search is looking for inspirational stories where people received revelation that their searches were fruitful.  Any stories, especially of 11-12 year olds learning more about their heritage and their feelings about the journey are especially requested.  At our North American Conference, they stressed they would even come and film locally if the story was what they were seeking to inspire others.  Please send your stories to us at naswfamilyhistory@gmail.com

A new directive...

With so many apps to "Take a Name" or "Find a Name", people have been submitting up to 3,000 names without verifying if the work has already been done or not.  The brethern would like us to slow down a little and get to know those members on the other side of the veil.  Take time to find out more about their lives, read local town histories of when they were living there, read journals to find out how they solved their problems.  As you truly take the time to know them, your spiritual experience in the Temple or even working with your tree, will become more intense.  You will feel their gratitude as you honor them.

Training the 11 year olds

Many of you probably saw President Oaks and Sister Oaks tremendous presentation at Roots Tech this year.  If you haven't, here it is in it's entirety.  We use a snippet of the program in our 11 year old training.  There is a reason the Prophet has told us to use these young people in such a valiant job of preserving our heritage.  The most important ones are the protective blessings they will receive for doing so.
Visit our Youtube Channel to view our Train the Trainer.  Let us come and present this to your Primary Presidency, Beehive Advisor, Deacon Advisor and Elder's Quorum President.  Call us or email us today and set up a time for any Tuesday or Wednesday night at your building.  480 262 3525  naswfamilyhistory@gmail.com

Relief Society and Family History

Each Sunday, add a short sharing moment and encourage the sisters to pray to find out something about a relative.  They can search in any realm, software, google, journals, but bring a picture to Relief Society to share.  Do this in anticipation of taking a special day at the Temple with other Sisters.

Young Women and Young Men and Family History

Organize a service project.  Divide the ward list up and have each YW/YM call them and either interview them over the phone or make an appointment to meet with them.  Let them tell some stories and have the youth type them up as they talk.  This will increase compassion for them.  They will learn so much!  Assign at least 3 YW/YM to be Family History consultants.  Training is on our Youtube channel.  Help them help others succeed in documenting their history for their posterity.

Just a Shout Out...

Congratulations to Scottsdale North Stake last week for an amazing program.  We were there to be of service in Family HIstory if needed.  The Peruvian Celebration drew over 400 people.  There was music, dancing, free food and they DID run out eventually, but it appeared to be almost like the "fed 5,000" miracle.  Everyone had exactly what they needed!  Good Job - let's see more events like this.  What a good example to other Stakes!
