This has been a tough week, but we persevered and will come out smelling like a rose!
This week was my 3rd hip surgery. The first was September 18, 2020, and it resulted in septicemia. the second was in January to correct the first one. This past Tuesday, we did my right hip. It was quite an ordeal. It's interesting that now, in some areas, for some people, they consider this operation a 1-day op and maybe might hold you overnight but chances are, they will send you home the same day.
Well gosh! That's a tough order to fill First, we prayed that we could endure anything that God felt we could experience. I had a blessing. That is always a positive experience, then I started making plans to do exactly what the doctors said The operation took 2 hours longer because
It was needed to rebuild the acetabula head. I was worried that this might happen because I could feel the major shifting in the week before. Well, I worried about something that didn't happen. They didn't make me go home the first day. I stayed 3. Yes, there were good reasons but it's done and I am ln a good place now.
So this is a reminder that if you are nervous about asking a friend if you can help them with their family tree....say a prayer and do exactly what you are prompted to do. That way, you will be in exactly the place Heavenly Father wants you to be as well.
On our next zoom, we’re going to be talking about some of the experiences that we’ve had and that others have had which have drawn them closer to family history and drawn them closer to the Lord. It will be more of a roundtable discussion but let me start and get you excited about this next Saturday the 12th at 5 PM.
We Often invite the missionaries to bring someone that they are teaching to the stake library so that we can help them find names in anticipation of their baptism so that they can be in compliance with the Prophet’s wish, Made known to all by David a Bednar at the 2020 leadership meeting,to have all converts go to the temple within 60 days with their own names. This one night a couple came in and the husband was being a little standoffish and wanted us to help his wife. We did as far as we could with her but she had Perúvian roots and my that wasn’t my forte but I knew who to hook her up with so we switched to him. Now, the missionaries weren’t going to have the family history lesson that day but they woke up in the morning and they were inspired after praying to call him and ask a couple to meet them there at the library for that specific purpose. We started with prayer then by asking him some questions about his Family, and I asked “didn’t you just tell me she died on May 19?“ He said yes. But everything I was pulling up, all the documentation, was guiding me to May 21 so I looked at him and I said just that. As I said the words “May 21” our eyes locked and we both realized that today was May 21. his eyes got as big as saucers and he said, “Oh my word she came to me in a vision this morning and I wondered why. She wants me to help find names to find her family “. Well he perked up and started giving me a little more information and a little more and pretty soon before 9 o’clock came, time to close, we had almost 250 names. If you give a convert enough names to go to the temple that many times during the year they will stay active for their life. And that is the reason why the prophet wants us to do the one on one spirit lead family history experience in lieu of curriculum.
I hope you will bring your stories and join us next Saturday at 5 PM March 12. Mountain standard time The invitation is Here on this blog and our NASWfamilyhistory.blogspot.com and also our Facebook page. We know this will be an uplifting experience for you. Yes, it will be only four days past my hip replacement surgery so if you see me smiling very big it was a success!
