We are FORMER ADVISERS: We have enjoyed the most amazing calling of Area Advisers for the past 7 years. We are now going to pursue not only genealogy but other areas of family documentation. We will help anyone who asks us. We no longer have to stay within the realms of our 9 stakes. We hope you will visit our new blog and keep in touch AT meyerandmeyerconsulting.blogspot.com Sign up for our Newsletter http://eepurl.com/cZDKYn for Tips and Tricks to end your worries with FAMILY HISTORY
We keep this blog for our Stakes that we work with. It makes it very easy for them to reach out and download tools for success.
Sometimes we get messages "waiting for moderation" and don't get to them right away - my apologies for that. In order to keep this page appropriate for all ages, we choose to not open the comments. Invariably we get spam, people trying to advertise their master classes as inexpensively as possible, and some inappropriate comments. We do get some good feedback and prefer you email us directly if you have any questions or training needs at naswfamilyhistory@gmail.com
We did receive a question about a game I invented but I was unable to reach her as there was no return email left -
Here is our Thanksgiving message for you. We think we know what gratitude is. We think we are thankful. However, not one of us has traveled beyond the veil and turned to look back once the truth is realized...wondering. Not one of us has arrived there and wistfully wondered why we didn’t listen to the missionaries when we had the chance. None of us has realized our full potential but are hopeful that we have enough time here to do that which we were put here to do. We haven’t waited years for someone to do our work and when completed, simply drop to our knees in great heaving sobs, in true gratitude for the atonement of Jesus Christ, that he restored the Gospel to the earth. From their point of view, those heavy tears of thankfulness are for those still on earth who selflessly did the research to find them and do the work for them so they can move forward in Heaven to their Divine potential. That is gratitude...pure gratitude and the thought of helping those on the other side reduces me to tears wondering what more I can do to help them. May you and your families stop for a moment and truly be grateful for your life, your family and the ability to help others in their journey. We are so thankful for you and are ready to serve you in anything you hope to accomplish for your Stake in Family History. Please call on us.

Are you working with the Primary kids on Family History?
In 2018, President Dallin Oaks and his wife gave a wonderful presentation about the capability of the younger children, in particular, 11-12-year-olds at RootsTech. It was alluded to that this was important and that we needed to do it. However, very few outside of the circle of Utah and other communities who were so inspired followed thru.
These things aren't just revealed and kicked out to the public. A lot of thought goes into how things are revealed to the Lord's People. Sometimes up to a year has gone into the planning before releasing something to us. When it is released, we need to realize that as that was in the pipeline...other revelations are coming right behind it, and President Nelson is not wasting any time with his plans for us or the world.
It comes as no surprise to me that last year, he revealed that the 11-year-olds would be going into Young Women's and Young men's NOT right at 11 when they turn that age during the year, but every child turning 11 in the next year transitions in JANUARY.
At that time, there was no training or curriculum on how to teach that age. So all you great people who listened, had prepared 11-year-olds who knew how to research properly, knew how to use the Consultant Planner to their advantage and also knew how to utilize the Partner Access to increase their success rates for finding family and decrease their research time.
You now have been trying to figure out for the past 11 months, how to train these little people or at least give them a positive taste of what is to come. If you only give them some fun opportunities utilizing family history, you will be doing them a great favor. They do not have to be research scholars in the subject. So how are the rest of you going to do this? You have less that three months left.
Want help?
We have created a fun way to teach this age group about Family HIstory using Family Search apps and BYU lab apps that make it fun for them! We call it Primarily Primary. We have not been paid by the Church or conscripted to do this, but it just makes good sense to follow thru on what was given to us by President Nelson.\
Want More?
If these pictures of our tools and ideas we made to help make your calling easier for you to share the gospel look interesting, please email us and ask for our fun way to get kids excited about family history that we created for our Stakes we represent. If you are a member of one of our Stakes, you know that we are your Area Temple and Family History Consultants. We have not been paid or conscripted to create these, we do it out of love for family history and out of love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our chief job is to advise Stake Presidents with what we have gleaned from meetings in Salt Lake so that the Priesthood Line of authority can disseminate the information down through the ranks.
We help their Stakes and Wards when asked to help train on Family History or even give talks about it. Each Stake President and Bishop is given the power to decide what is best for their people. Our Area has adopted the "One Work" practice of working with family history and missionary work to ensure retention of converts. Our whole training and Mission President support this effort and it is a success here.It is never our intent to try to change the vision or your own leaders. Our Family Search adviser asked me to explain this. We don’t want any complaints against us and are concerned that we might hurt feelings or appear to be encroaching on someone else’s territory. That is not our intent. We will never say no to helping anyone because our first commitment is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone in need through the power of Family History.
Thank you so much for visiting our blog which we created for our 7 Stakes to make it easier for their people to learn to feel confident as Consultants. We see that others are learning how consultants can make their job so much easier and effective by analyzing their patron’s tree and if this has been helpful to you, we are glad. If you aren’t in our area, we need to let you know that your first choice for help is:
your local spiritual Priesthood holder, i.e, Home teacher,
Temple and Family History Leader, or
Counselor under the Elders' Quorum President over Family History, or
Your Bishop.
Then for additional assistance, please read the "My Callings" pages on Family Search.
You can also call Family Search Support at 1 866 406 1830 or join the communities.familysearch.org for Ward or Stake Consultants.
If you have tried all other avenues, we are certainly here for you.

We always need to follow
protocol to get help for you by having your leaders speak with your Area

others who are not under the purview of our calling, but our only intent is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Power of Family History. If you are confident that no one
would be upset by our helping you, as long as you contact us and you have
tried all other sources, to no avail, maybe that would be ok because we are all just trying to do good in the world.
Who said Genealogy is just for Old Folks!?
There is this ugly rumor that only old people can do genealogy...
The only part of that which is true is that yes, once you get past a certain age where you are more comfortable in your reclining chair with your laptop than on a treadmill...you find one amazing thing then another...and it becomes addicting. It's almost like you've been bitten by this bug that causes you to get excited over the smallest discovery!
We are finding that since the Prophet asked that 10-11-year-olds be trained, they are getting excited over finding their ancestors just like we are. Who knew? Genealogy beats out Disney Descendants? Awesome!
Because 11-year-olds go into Young Womens' and Young Mens' organizations at 11 now instead of 12, it's time we found something to show these 10 years olds, so we came up with a game called 20 Ways to Gather Israel. The pictures are fun to look at and match, they learn which things are about purity, the courage to try to learn, and service to others.
It is absolutely Free - you just have to cut it out and put it together.
Here is the link to the final version - (I know! I'm sorry! I sent out a few for you to try but we polished this up a little and made the directions more clear!) So you will need this version:
Until Next month.....keep smiling - keep doing what you do and find someone amazing in the past to get to know! Find out where you get your artistic talent from! Where do you get your singing ability from? Find out about their lives and learn something to enhance yours!
